# Demo sample images

Two generations of assets live in this directory:

1. **`real-*.jpg` — real photographs (CURRENT).** Referenced from
   `lib/demo/sample-images.ts`, shown as clickable thumbnails on `/demo`, and
   used by the animated scanner demo in the homepage hero
   (`components/verify-ai/VerifyAIScannerDemo.tsx`). Every expected outcome
   was verified against the live VLM pipeline with
   `npx tsx scripts/demo-photo-gate.ts <policyId> <files...>` before shipping —
   do not add or swap a sample without re-running the gate.
2. **Illustrated fixtures (LEGACY).** The original generated JPEG fixtures
   (`scooter-parked-correctly.jpg`, `vehicle-with-dent.jpg`, …) are kept on
   disk because other pages still embed them directly
   (`app/government-fleet-readiness/page.tsx`, onboarding `SandboxWelcome`).
   Regenerate those with `npx tsx scripts/generate-demo-samples.ts`.

`scooter-silhouette.png` is the real ghost-overlay asset from the Levy Fleets
mobile app scanner, used by the hero demo's guide frame.
