Is VerifyAI compliant with FMCSA DVIR requirements?

VerifyAI generates structured inspection records that include all FMCSA-required fields: driver identity, date and time, vehicle identification, defect descriptions, and signed certification. Photo evidence is hashed and timestamped to support audit defensibility.

Can drivers skip an angle if visibility is poor?

Required angles can be configured as mandatory or skippable-with-reason. When a driver skips an angle, they're prompted to record a reason, and the DVIR notes the exception. Most operators make critical-safety angles (tires, lights, brakes) mandatory.

What defects does the AI detect?

Out of the box: low tire tread, visible tire damage, oil and fluid drips, cracked headlights and taillights, broken mirrors, damaged body panels, missing mud flaps, and missing or improperly mounted decals. Custom defect classes can be trained for fleet-specific equipment.

Does this replace our existing telematics or DVIR software?

VerifyAI integrates with most DVIR and fleet maintenance platforms (Samsara, Geotab, KeepTruckin, Fleetio, etc.) via webhook or API. We add structured photo verification and AI defect detection to the workflows you already have.

How long is photo evidence retained?

By default, inspection photos are retained for 12 months on Standard plans and 36 months on Enterprise — well beyond the 90-day FMCSA minimum. Retention is configurable per fleet for regulatory or insurance reasons.
